
Molly Kay Wenzel is a up-and-coming composer with a unique sound. Inspired by the sounds of Toby Fox, Lena Raine, Aaron Cherof and kikuo, she strives to create memorable music that enhances interactive media.
Born and raised in Wichita, KS, Molly Kay participated in several ensembles while in school, such as the Wichita Youth Symphony Orchestra on flute, Shocker Sound Machine on piccolo, and the WSU Symphonic Band on flute and bassoon.
In 2023, Molly Kay participated in the Music Creator Academy’s remote Video Game Scoring Workshop, led by Dr. Benjamin Taylor (Indiana University Bloomington) and Jeff Broadbent.
She graduated from Wichita State University in 2025 with a Bachelors in Music Composition. During her time at WSU, she studied under Dr. Jacy Pedersen and Dr. David Macdonald.
During her time at WSU, Molly Kay composed music for several student-led game development projects. Currently, she continues to compose for student-led game projects, as well as film and animation projects.
Molly Kay also frequently participates in the SPLICE Institue- an electroacoustic workshop hosted by the SPLICE ensemble.
